About the Role
As Buyer at Dafo Vehicle, you will play a key role in supporting our manufacturing and supply chain operations. You will manage procurement activities across a range of suppliers, ensuring material availability, supplier performance, and inventory accuracy.
You are the key link between our suppliers and internal stakeholders, responsible for ensuring the right parts, at the right time, and at the right cost. Your role is vital in securing operational flow and supporting the company's growth journey through excellence in purchasing execution.
What You Will Do
Operational & Purchasing Management
- Create and process purchase orders in accordance with demand, ensuring accuracy in quantities, delivery dates, and pricing.
- Monitor order acknowledgments, ensure invoice accuracy from the supplier and PO status to secure availability and cost control.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent material shortages.
- Use ERP/MRP systems (preferably D365 or Siteline) to manage purchasing and inventory flow.
Supplier Management & Communication
- Act as the primary contact for suppliers regarding delivery schedules, packaging, and order confirmations.
- Monitor and follow up on supplier performance, including delivery accuracy and quality deviations.
- Maintain positive, proactive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Support supplier development by identifying improvement areas and initiating change where needed.
Data & Continuous Improvement
- Provide accurate data on shortages, delivery schedules, and supplier KPIs.
- Contribute to inventory control efforts including safety stock execution and supplier-owned inventory (if applicable).
- Support root cause analysis for material shortages and contribute to corrective actions.
- Participate in improvement projects such as Kanban implementation and Lean initiatives.
Metrics & Reporting
- Support the commodity managers for supplier performance (on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and cost) within your commodity category.
- Own “clear-to-build” status for your suppliers, ensuring all materials are available to support production schedules.
- Prepare purchasing metrics and contribute to regular reporting to supply chain leadership.
What You Will Bring
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in purchasing or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with ERP systems and understanding of MRP logic.
- Skilled in communication and stakeholder management – both internally and externally.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Fluent in English (Swedish is a plus).
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Automotive Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, IMDS, or VDA 6.3.
- Certification in CPIM or CSCP (APICS) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in strategic sourcing or supplier development.
- Experience from a Lean environment with knowledge in tools like 5S, Kaizen, or value stream mapping.
Travel Requirements
- Primarily based in our Albyberg facility, Haninge Municipality (South Stockholm).
- Occasional travel (up to 15%) for supplier visits or cross-functional collaboration.
Other requirements:
- A valid work permit for the EU is required for this position.
