Dafo Vehicle Achieves Certification for UAE.S 5041:2021 and SASO 2946:2020

We are proud to announce that Dafo Vehicle is now certified in compliance with UAE.S 5041:2021 – Fire Suppression Systems Intended for Engine Compartments of Buses and Coaches. In addition, our systems are also certified according to SASO 2946:2020, further strengthening our ability to support safe public transport operations across the Middle East. Both certifications have been issued by the Emirates Safety Laboratory (ESL).

Strengthening Fire Safety in Public Transport

UAE.S 5041:2021 is the United Arab Emirates standard regulating automatic fire suppression systems in the engine compartments of buses and coaches carrying more than 22 passengers. The regulation aims to enhance public transport safety by ensuring that vehicles operating in the region are equipped with reliable fire protection systems.

To meet the requirements of the standard, fire suppression systems must undergo extensive testing, including:

  • Fire performance testing to verify effective fire detection and suppression

  • Vibration resistance testing to ensure reliable operation in demanding vehicle environments

  • Temperature endurance testing to confirm functionality under extreme operating conditions

Certification by the Emirates Safety Laboratory (ESL) ensures that approved systems meet strict safety and reliability criteria.

Engine compartment fires represent a serious risk in heavy-duty passenger vehicles. Compliance with UAE.S 5041:2021 confirms that Dafo Vehicle’s systems are tested and approved to perform effectively under challenging operating conditions.

Compliance with Saudi Arabian Standard SASO 2946:2020

Dafo Vehicle’s fire suppression systems are also certified in accordance with SASO 2946:2020, the Saudi Arabian standard regulating fire suppression systems for buses and coaches.

Issued by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), this regulation focuses on improving fire safety in passenger vehicles operating in Saudi Arabia. Similar to the UAE regulation, SASO 2946:2020 establishes requirements for:

  • Automatic fire detection and suppression in engine compartments

  • System performance during fire scenarios

  • Durability and reliability under vehicle operating conditions

  • Compliance verification through certified testing laboratories

Meeting this standard ensures that fire suppression systems installed in buses operating in Saudi Arabia provide a reliable and tested level of protection for passengers, drivers, and vehicles.
